How hard is it to play the pedal steel guitar?

I tried to play pedal steel once. Couldn’t really do anything beyond mimicking some open chord slide guitar licks without much success. So yes, it is really hard if you’re not familiar with it. You definitely won’t be able to pick it up on the go just because you play regular guitar unless you’re a genius.
